Pin - Brooch Swap

As you know I love alcohol inks so I combined them with some dominoes to make them into brooches. Easy.. My daughter helped with the inking. It was good fun. Fairies and princesses.

Latest Cards

Hello again,
Just updating some cards I have made. I have discovered Alcohol Inks. They are fantastic to use and so individual. Each time you use the colours you will get a different pic/background.
Also I have been participating in sending cards overseas.
Always great fun!
I love swapping or sending Cards
and this card is going to a wonderful
Nanna in the USA who turns 90 this month.
Stamps used are Stampin Up and clear embossing
along with alcohol inks and
Club scrap papers

Another Card Swap/Send

A friend online has a nephew who has been posted to Iraq

His birthday is this month and I thought that a USA/Aussie

card would be appropriate to send him

Fantastic colours and great stamps.

Cirque Du Soleil

Sunday 8th July 2007
We went to see Cirque Du Soleil
Varekai! Absolutely amazing. I had
purchased the tickets last year and
finally the day arrived!
What an experience. Even Georgia
loved it, even though at one stage
she was yelling something over the
music and D said "pardon" and right
as Georgia was about to reply there was
a silent moment, so she bellowed, I SAID
I AM SICK OF THIS MUSIC!! So Everyone
knew she was tired of that particular scene!!!

Next funny part was one of the artists was splitting her legs wide whilst up on her hands and
yes she must be a contortionist!! When Georgia informs us "I can easily do THAT!!"
It was fun watching Georgia's reactions. She was applauding spontaneously and loving it. It
really is a spectacular that leaves you short of words and transports you into their world.

Posted by Picasa
Well I am totally sold. What a great experience Stampin Up is turning out to be!
I held my first workshop last weekend and it was so much fun I am looking forward to the next one! Seriously, people who had never stamped or done much of any craft loved it. It was a great couple of hours and even inspired me more.
Above are a few cards I made recently and include the Esprossly for you set, Lexicon of Love Set and Favourite Teddy Bear.
Please feel free to contact me if I can assist with your stamping or hosting a workshop! This is turning out to be such a wonderful experience. The support, the service and the people you meet are all incredible!

Child of the 60's Maybe?

Georgia decided to dress herself up on Sunday night! And then proceeded to put on a show for us using her Songstar and microphone. We couldn't stop laughing because she has a bad cold so her voice was husky and she sang as poorly as me!!Posted by Picasa

Happy Birthday Little Brother

Well today is my little brothers birthday!! Wow... He actually has reached 39!!

I tell you the life he has led in the past 20 years I am totally surprised he has made it!

Looking forward to sharing his 40th Next year! Many Happy returns Adam!!

Your card will be in the mail tomorrow. Had to put some finishing touches to it!!

As much as it pains me to do a Black and White Collingwood Card, I did it. Anyone that understands AFL would understand - Adam - Collingwood - Me - Carlton!!

Lately, What has been going on. Lots and nothing, if that makes sense. Work as usual but also I have just signed up as a Stampin'Up Demonstrator - Look out Kerry and Karen and Glenys, you all need to order your stamps and card making gear from me!

Feel free anyone, to contact me about Stampin'Up stamps or to host a workshop. Ask me about some incentives I am offering for people to host a party during June~

Lastly, for now. I finally scrapped some more. I did a double page Layout of my gorgeous nephew, Daniel, who visited last Christmas.

Friday 27th April

It is raining!!! YAY!!Yesterday it rained continuously. Fantastic. We really need the rain here right now. So dry, gardens dying and even worse the farmers and irrigators are facing very very hard times.
I was listening to the radio today and a lady phoned up to say yesterday when the rain was falling her and 3 friends were leaving a slimmers club at Victor Harbor and the hooked arms and sang "Singing in the Rain" to a few bemused passer-bys!

This weekend is Georgia's 4th birthday. I am stressing.. I am so used to my step-mum being here to help me get organised!! This year she will still be at home in Tasmania!! Oh well you would think after 3 b'days I would be a little organised, but this party is different. Georgia knows what she wants this year and this year she has 7 little friends coming along. In the past it has been mainly family and 2 little friends!

I have planned a couple of games - the usual pin the tail on the donkey and pass the parcel. Not sure what else to do. The party is only for a couple of hours. Oh did I say I am also nervous about meeting the mums of Georgia's little friends?? Well I am!

Food wise, because of Georgia's allergies, it is a little more difficult to cater than just whip up a cake etc... Have to keep in mind, no eggs,no nuts, no sesame and the list goes on.

Kylies Bakehouse are making her cake. Last year I tried with egg replacer and at the last minute it was a flop. Better they make it and it be a great cake, than my efforts! Kylies bakehouse if fantastic for gluten free, nut free, egg free etc. She is totally switched on to being very careful about the ingredients she uses as she has a child too with allergies. Fortunately Georgia is not allergic to dairy and does not require gluten free.

Anyway, after rambling I think I might continue a little longer (ha haha). I made a gorgeous Maze Book the other day for my step-mum for Mothers day and am working on another for mother in law too. Thanks to Tricia Morris - Clubscrap for the directions and the webisode she does, it made it quite easy!

Oh I have ordered a rack for all my papers that has 24 shelves and a dustcover! I can't wait until it gets here!! Shhhhh don't tell hubby!

Also, my bestfriend is now a Stampin' Up consultant (yes I am going to become one too) and I received an order from her yesterday with stamp cleaning gear. Also the ideas book. Wow, the book is fantastic. She had also emailed me to say she was sending something for Georgia and could I wrap it for her birthday! Turns out she had included 3 sheets of chipboard - shapes, labels everything... Hmmm and she thinks I am going to give them to a 4 year old!!! No way.. LOL

So if you are interested in stamping, cardmaking, scrapbooking, then contact me for your supplies from stampin Up. They really are great value and the ideas book is well worth buying.

Please think of me on Sunday when I host this party!!!! Will update you then!

Sunday...

What do we do on a Sunday. Well this Sunday Georgia and I had a lazy day. PJ's until midafternoon, scrapping, oh and she made a plaster mold and painted it beautifully.
Georgia was so proud of her scrapbooking (she has her own albums!) and today asked me to photograph it with my effort at scrapping!

At age 3 (nearly 4) she is not into adding photos but loves sticking things down and trying to copy mummy.Anyway here is her and my effort today.

Along with Georgia holding her page up:

Anyway we had a great day, scrapping and in our PJ's until late!!

More Scrapping

Hello again. We had a great Easter and I got some great photos of Georgia doing her Easter egg hunt! Will get around to scrapping them soon :)

In the meantime I have done a few more pages over the Easter Break. Being part of challenges on a group for scrapping gives you some incentive to scrap when you are running out of ideas etc.
The other thing that gives you inspiration is joining Club Scrap. I LOVE their papers!
The Paris page is with CS papers and the floral piece is Basic Grey. Beach one is with CS papers and fonts and their stamp too.

Almost Easter

Well it has been a while since I updated. I have been busy with work and scrapbooking and contemplating getting into the stamping side of things as well.
I managed to get a fair bit of scrapping done last weekend. I have discovered a really good club that provides the best quality paper and kits around and that really helped with inspiration.
Anyway, with Easter fast approaching I am looking forward to sharing it with Georgia and we plan to have an Easter egg hunt, bunny rabbit feet and all. Anyone know what the weather is going to be overnight and the next morning (Sunday) ??
I must add, with Georgia being allergic to all nuts and tree nuts it has been an exciting time for "mummy Easter bunny" to go shopping this year. I could not hold back the smile as I got to shop for Easter eggs this year. Finally people are getting IT!! Companies are "getting IT" and there is now a wider choice for children with anaphylaxis to nuts to be able to share in Easter. This year is the first year we have been able to buy Georgia an Easter egg with smarties in it that does not have the "may contain" nuts warning!!!
Anyway enough of my lecturing/rambling.. Here are some of my latests scrap pages. I hope you like them.

Another Week Gone By

Well a week has gone since my last post. Not much has happened except that I have finished a couple of pages from last weeks trip to the beach and one LO of Georgia splashing all and sundry with water from her pool!

The pool one brings back good memories and I just WISH I had the camera ready when she threw a bucket of water of Poppy. The look on his face was priceless. He really didn't think she would throw water on Poppy!! G being G... she DID!! Even though I don't have a photo of it, the look on dad's face is imprinted in my memory for ever!!

Anyway, I managed to capture G splashing Aunty Kerry and Uncle Adam and playing in her pool that she got for Christmas.

The beach one was a beautiful day and I have already gone on about it in last weeks post, so won't bore you again. I will post the pics though.

G is just gorgeous. Yes I am biased, but she is so photogenic and those CURLS!

I have to thank Dominga for helping me cover up my glue mistakes in this LO. I put too much glue on the letters and it left a residue, so Dominga helped me out and showed me KindyGlitz which she traced around the letters and left a sparkly look and lifted the letters up out of the page so that they stood out. Thanks Dominga!

Long Weekend

Well a long weekend has been and passed. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Friend came over Friday night and she is into Cards, not scrapping but we traded info and had a good time catching up. She got to use my cricut machine for lettering and I got some hints from her about making more depth in layouts etc which was good :) Thanks Leesa

Saturday night went out with Mother-in-law to a show called Menopause the Musical. If you have not seen it then as Molly says "Do yourself a favour" it was funny and very well done!

Sunday, lazy day, pushing around the same photos, trying to make something of a page that would not come to me!! So, I pushed it aside and finished off some swaps I am involved with. Cherished Dresses and also I am in a swap for 10 cards. I managed to get 8 out of the 10 finished before my eyes begged me to go to bed!! So two more to go. Engagement card and a Blank card.

Monday woke late as I had been up too late doing cards!! My daughter kept coming in waking me intermittently..LOL... Anyway, finally we headed off to the beach. Had a great time with Georgia. Lunch at the beach, her flying a kite ( some guy offered her a turn), digging holes, building sandcastles and walking along the beach collecting shells. Yes, I got some photos so will scrap them and post later!!

Tuesday...Ho hum..back to work and very very busy! Tonight I finished one half of a double layout that I had been pushing around for days and finally thought "stuff it!" I need to just get it done... Finished it and the second page. Although it is begging for a flower or too on the 2nd page!

Me and my brother

He's not so little. Or should I say. "He ain't heavy he's my brother".
I have scrapped a page that is reminiscent of Adam and I. It was new years eve 2006. It was a great New Years Eve and Christmas, being able to spend it with my family.
As you can see, we are most certainly the worse for wear in these pics and Adam is quite happy to be modelling the liquid bright coloured thingies on his ear etc..
Anyway, the page is casual. No pretentiousness (is that a word??) Just a brother and sister partying on New Years eve.

What has been happening lately

Just the usual.. as stated a crop last Friday, a re-arrangement of what I did at the crop. Note to me: less chat more scrapping!

This Friday night I am having a "crop/cardmaking" session at home. Hubby is at work so cannot go to a crop so to speak so have invited a friend over to do some craft and cards and scrapping. Should be fun. Then the following week we are off to Camelot. It will be my friends first time at Camelot. Can't wait to see her face when she sees what is on offer!

Anyway last weekend I got around to making a mini paper bag album which uses basci grey papers and Heidi Swapp flowers.

You can judge for yourself as to whether you like it!

Another Crop at Camelot!

I love this place and I love just being able to chat to other people about scrapping and really, scrapping people are so nice, friendly and helpful!

Went along for the 2nd time this week. I had been told they were booked out, so I phoned up Friday to see if there were any cancellations. Anyway they said they would "squeeze" me in!

It was a bit squishy, but the comeraderie and the helpful hints made up for it. Mind you, a new shed is being built out the back of Camelot and there will be heaps more space for us!! I can't wait!

Heather is a regular there and invaluable with advice, suggestions etc. I was fortunate to be sitting near her this week and her "can help" was so much appreciated. She has a real knack with colours and just pulling a page together that looks perfect!!

Anyway, I started a page at the crop, finished it, but came home thinking NAH, the yellow and red just doesn't go and as I did last time changed it... So here it is. Georgia and Darryl spying bugs in the lawn.

Back Again!

Not too much happening in little old Adelaide!

Work Work... etc

I last posted about swapping photos with people on the internet to scrap your pages and you scrap theirs.

Here is my recipricol picture swap from a lovely lady in Victoria.

I love it. The best part of swaps is seeing what other people do and getting to think outside the nine dots. I would have done my usual pink and lots of flowers with this photo. But WOW have a look at what "Purplefroggy" came up with!

Internet Swaps

I have to say that I have gotten into swaps online. It really is good fun!

Challenging too.

I have just recently done a swap of photos of which the person sent me her Grandparents wedding photoes

At first I panicked, big time!! I am an amateur at this scrapbooking! Crikey what will I do!!

I think I have done them justice. After some encouraging from my husband who said well you should research the 1940's I found a museum picture of the church they were married in. So included that in the layout.

What's been happening lately?

It has been an interesting few days.

I must admit that I am on a mission here! I had to have 2 x ct scans, one of my neck and one of my brain (of which I am delighted to be able to tell my hubby that I have a normal brain!!) and one by ultrasound on my carotoid arteries (both sides of the neck to see if blood is flowing ok).

Well $700 later as you can see above all was normal and no sign of why half my face is numb!. Not exactly numb, but the kind of feeling when you have a swollen face or the feeling after being to the dentist!!

After being told the bill was $700 of which Medicare would cover $500 and I was out of pocket $200 the lady at the clinic said would you like to pay in full today?? She was very robotic, almost like I say this everytime kind of person. I asked her if there was any discount for paying in full on the day... To which she replied - NO. Well thank god I had not had a stroke.. and thank god I didn't have one when she told me the amount of the bill... So to her I said NO..

So, I wait another day to get the results from the CT Scan etc. Had to go back to see the local GP
for a brief consultation to tell me my brain was normal!!!

And then to be told if the numbness continues after a week (oh also to take anti-inflammatories) then to come back I was then charged another $39.10.

This Dr bill is adding up right???

Hmm $700 for scans and ultrasound
Revisit Dr $39.10

Now who is making money here?? Certainly NOT me!!

I really think our medical system needs a huge overhaul. I pay $106 per fortnight for private cover plus my 1.5% for medicare. Tell me why I am so out of pocket????

Phewwwww

So.. onto other things.
I have done another page about a beautiful card that my husband gave me on Valentines day and also working on a photo swap with a lovely lady from Victoria. It is challenging and I hope that once I have finished, she will like what I have done as a layout for her Gran's wedding photos.

Tuesday, February 20, 2007

Finally finished a double layout that really represents Georgia and Xmas 2006.

She was absolutely mesmerised by Aunty Kerri. I think Aunty Kerri was also mesmerised by Georgia's charm and the wish that she also had a little girl!!

Off The page

Just a couple of things I have done lately "Off The page"

Just completed a few more Layouts

I am really enjoying scrapbooking my photos and doing a little of OTP's when I run out of steam to scrap or lack inspiration.

Oh, let you fill you in on my latest - Went to my 2nd ever lesson - Advanced Beginners 2 on the weekend. Pulling into the shop and wouldn't you know it - I hit a gutter and blew my tyre out!

Scrapping lesson must go on, so an SOS to my husband who kindly came down and changed the tyre in 40 degree heat for me!!

I've just tried the new Runway from TLC and am happy with how it turned out.

I

I've also been trying out some different things. With my daughters first swimming lessons and also had a try at using hinges for the first time.

Suggestions for Scrapbooking

Interesting scrapbooking, but you seem to run out of ideas at times.

Any suggestions for topics are welcome (keep it clean!)

I love a challenge, so even if you want to post a layout with a topic in mind, let me know!

I have found recently that I am enjoying OTP's. Now for those that do not know what that means (as in I did not know until a couple of weeks ago) then Off The Page is what it stands for. It basically means not scrapping a page, but doing something craft wise. For instance a mini album etc.

If you can scrapbook, you can do OTP's. You must have some imagination, so therefore can produce great work off the page also.

Hey, you know what? If I can do a tag book photo album then anyone else can too!

Have a look at my first try at OTP!
